Taverna Kali Limni - Kali Kardia

Amazing atmosphere and location and great food - we had Karpathos salad, fava and homemade ice cream. All can be happily recommended. The table next to us ordered macarounes, and the smell of the onion was simply fantastic - too bad I was already full. But the truth is that (probably) the lady owner could use a little smile now and then - it was a bit un-Greek.

To find such a great place in the wildest part of south Karpathos is already an amazing feat for the people running this oasis. The owner, host, cook is the sweetest person and made us feel at home even if it was a difficult day. In the middle of nowhere, in very difficult conditions, the home made dishes like the artichokes or the stifado are amazing and the makarounes are by far the best we tried on the island, with the right amount of butter and for once, prepared on the spot. Don't miss the mastiha ice cream if you like that taste. The raki is also great. It's worth a visit even if you don't walk up the mountain.

Really good food and amazing views when driving here. The best zucchini croquettes we have ever tasted and the meatballs and home made ice cream were really tasty too. It really was worth for visiting.

The taverna is absolutley amazing, although the road to get there was quite gut-wrenchin, but if was drivable and the views made up for it. We came there to eat twice and both times we were blown away. The chicken in lemon juce was the best, but we also enjoyed the sausages and the vegetable stew. The pork stifado was quite good aswell and they gave us some pretty good karpathian baklavas for desert. They also had really nice service.

Really a lifesaver after any hike (or attempt thereat) up the Καλή Λίμνη mountain. Oasis of peace and calm and rest in a location that could otherwise be on an other planet. Had mezes and (lots of) water as it was still quite early. Especially the Karpathian macarounes were really nice; the way the onion complemented the pasta really made sense.

Very good, traditional Greek food which tasted excellent after the hike up to Kali Limni. Pleasant management and good service. Had a good raki as well!!!
